Nicholas Good

Nicholas Good is the organist at First UMC, joining our staff in the spring of 2005. Previously, he was the organist at Lowman UMC here in Topeka. He has also held positions as organist and organist/choir director at Methodist, Presbyterian, Episcopal and United Church of Christ congregations in Topeka, Chicago and St. Louis.

Nick holds a BM degree from the University of Illinois and certification as Colleague of the American Guild of Organists (their exam equivalent of a bachelor's degree) and will take the Associate certification exam in June of 2005.

Nick also plays the harpsichord and will release a CD of Buxtehude Harpsichord Suites and Variations in spring 2005. He has composed and/or arranged about 20 anthems for church choir use, and several hymn preludes for organ and for organ/instrumental combinations.

In his other life, Nick is a CPA and computer programmer, currently employed by Primedia Business Magazines and Media in Overland Park. His wife is Judith Kooser, MD.  They have two daughters, Johannah (14) and Amelia (13)  and a Welsh Corgi named Charlotte.
